Just dey Play (Stacking Up the Pieces) examines migration as a continual negotiation between who we were, who we are, and who we are still becoming. The work approaches reinvention as a condition of migration, where unfamiliar cultural systems require us to learn, adapt, and rebuild.

Drawing from the experience of childhood play, stacking becomes a metaphor for constructing identity piece by piece. Like encountering new shapes and colors in a cultural playground, each addition requires choices about what fits, what changes, what is carried forward, and what must be left behind. Balance remains temporary, requiring constant adjustment as new experiences reshape the whole.

The work understands identity not as fixed or complete, but as something assembled, fractured, and assembled again. Just dey Play positions the in-between as an active space of experimentation and becoming, where the pieces we gather along the journey continually reshape who we are.
